01 Our position
BBNA takes zero rebates, kickbacks, commissions, referral fees, or any other financial benefit from any supplier introduced to its members.
The BBNA network negotiates group rates with third-party suppliers on behalf of its members. Members contract directly with those suppliers and pay them directly at the network-negotiated rate. BBNA is not a middleman, does not mark up the supplier's price, does not receive a rebate from the supplier, and does not receive any commercial benefit from any member's use of any supplier.
This is a deliberate structural choice, and it is central to how BBNA is designed to work.
02 What BBNA does
BBNA uses the combined purchasing scale of its member brokers to negotiate better commercial terms with suppliers than any single broker could obtain individually. This applies to categories such as:
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance;
- AML/CTF compliance and customer due-diligence services;
- Software subscriptions and integrations relevant to a broking practice;
- AIBB membership and industry credentialing;
- Legal, accounting, and other professional services routinely engaged by business brokers.
Once a rate is negotiated, BBNA publishes it, records it in the member portal, and introduces the supplier to members who choose to engage them. The commercial relationship is between the member and the supplier, on the supplier's own terms.
03 What BBNA does not do
BBNA does not, and will not:
- Receive a percentage, per-transaction fee, referral fee, or rebate from any supplier when a BBNA member engages that supplier;
- Mark up a supplier's price and pass a marked-up rate to members;
- Bundle supplier fees into BBNA membership and retain any margin above the true supplier cost;
- Receive undisclosed hospitality, marketing contributions, sponsorship, product credits, or other in-kind benefits from suppliers in a form that would financially incentivise BBNA to prefer one supplier over another;
- Accept any consideration from a supplier that is contingent on how many BBNA members engage that supplier, or the volume of work referred.
Simply put: BBNA earns its revenue from member subscriptions. If a BBNA member saves money at a preferred supplier, the entire saving belongs to that member — none of it flows back to BBNA.
04 Suppliers in scope
This disclosure covers every third-party supplier BBNA introduces to members through:
- The BBNA member handbook;
- The BBNA member portal and preferred-supplier directory;
- Any communication (email, event, announcement, or one-to-one introduction) in which BBNA describes a supplier as recommended, negotiated, preferred, or discounted.
It also covers CIM-PRO (the deal execution platform BBNA members access) to the extent CIM-PRO is used by BBNA members: CIM-PRO Pty Ltd is a separate entity in which the BBNA director has an ownership interest — however, no commercial benefit accrues to BBNA from any BBNA member's use of CIM-PRO. Any commercial arrangement between BBNA and CIM-PRO is a corporate matter unrelated to individual member subscriptions.
05 How members pay suppliers
In every case, the BBNA member:
- Enters into a contract directly with the supplier on the supplier's standard terms (as negotiated by BBNA for the network);
- Pays the supplier directly, on the supplier's own billing schedule, using the member's own payment method;
- Retains all consumer, business, and dispute-resolution rights they would have as any other customer of that supplier.
BBNA does not invoice on behalf of a supplier, does not receive payment on behalf of a supplier, and does not remit funds to a supplier from any collected member payment.
06 Member recourse if this changes
If BBNA's supplier arrangements were to change in future in a way that introduced any form of rebate, referral fee, or commercial benefit from a supplier to BBNA, BBNA would:
- Publish the change in this disclosure with a new effective date and a summary of what changed;
- Notify all current members in writing at least thirty (30) days before the change takes effect;
- Give any member who objects a proportionate refund of any pre-paid membership.
Members are entitled to rely on the disclosure at the effective date shown at the top of this page for the balance of any pre-paid membership period.
